Are you interested in sharing your energy, enthusiasm and experience with the Women's House? It's this type of community support which ensures continuation of our mission, vision and philosophy and ultimately our programs and services.
Selection Criteria for Board Members
Persons who wish to become Board Members of the Women's House should:
- Be interested in the issue of family violence.
- Believe that there is a need to provide a safe place where women and children can go to escape family violence.
- Believe that there is a need in Bruce County for a shelter.
- Be interested in helping to prevent family violence through education in the community.
- Be interested in actively participating in Board activities and be willing to sit on some committees.
- Be willing to commit for at least three hours per month to sit on committees.
- Be eager to work with a group of dedicated people, which includes members, management and staff of the Women's House of Bruce County to keep the shelter going and to give the best service we can to those women and children who need these services.
- Be willing to commit for at least a three year term.
